ABOUT THE STATE OF PARÁ

The State of Pará is located in the Amazon Rainforest Region, Northern Brazil. It is the largest Brazilian state in area, through which the lower Amazon River flows to the Atlantic Ocean.

Area: 1.2 million km2

Population: beyond 7 million

Economic Base:
Mining - iron, bauxite, manganese, kaolin, gold, tin
